Mid-Level Functional Analyst (SAP BI), Philadelphia Metro, PA

Summary:
The position is responsible for providing support to the businesses using client’s reporting systems. The position exists to perform a variety of functions for the purpose of a successful system implementation, effective system use, improved user adoption and an ongoing company-wide system skill increase.
Responsibilities:
- Drive process and system design; collaborating with others in a associate role.
- Liaison to business functions; translates business requirements into solutions.
- Ability to translate requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Sponsor of solution designs; leads presentation and gains buy-in from the business.
- Participating in testing at all levels (unit, integration and user testing); designing and driving testing initiatives; develop and execute test plans.
- Participating in training efforts (material creation, train-the-trainer, training delivery, end user training).
- Communicating project goals, progress, issues and general information via written and verbal mediums as warranted.
- Construct work plans that will be utilized (by self or others) to achieve stated deliverables
- Implements support efforts; partnering with technology peers and end users
- Serves as a change agent to build and transition skills to end-users.
- Influencing and leading the design and implementation of new business processes and solutions.
- Work with external sources and all levels of internal business users to implement software solutions.
- Influencing and leading the design and implementation of new business processes and solutions
- Liaison between external sources and internal business users to understand their functional requirement and help develop/implement software solutions.
- Interact with programmers/developers to deliver optimal solutions for the business with very high quality control standards based on requirements
- Analyze large amounts of data, performing ad-hoc analysis and data manipulation for quality testing purposes based on projects assigned
- Maintain data dictionary and end user guides to report/analytical tool
- Create training materials based on training audience and needs; maintain report shells
- Provide end user support for day-to-day use of software solution; assist user in analysis if needed using various forms of communications
- Create documents needed for SOX compliance, such as test scripts, test verifications and user sign offs that are needed before program modifications are implemented.
Leadership:
No direct management responsibility.
Requirements:
- BS Degree in a technical discipline preferred.
- Project Management Professional certification preferred
- 3+ years total in a related industry, preferably Apparel Manufacturing and Distribution
- 3+ years experience in Business Intelligence (BI) solutions working with multi-dimensional business analytics reporting solutions; SAP preferred
- Experience in testing software and designing business systems
- Functional knowledge in areas of Product Development, Procurement, Planning, Logistics or Sales Order Fulfillment is also required.
- Basic project management skills – scope definition and management, work plan development
- Knowledge in MS Access helpful
