The candidate will be involved in all aspects of the product life cycle development including analysis and design, coding in ABAP, application scenario testing, implementation, and administration. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Apply strong knowledge of the business processes for specification, development, testing, and documentation of ABAP code for SAP implementations
  • Interpret functional requirements and develop ABAP programs according to the specifications, including conversions, reports, forms, enhancements, and interfaces
  • Support the business requirements of the project
  • Oversee integration between SAP and surrounding systems (WM, 3rd party, etc.)
  • Investigate and correct production issues, bugs, system problems
  • Lead project activities for ABAP development as assigned by manager
  • Solves problems and satisfies requirements through innovation and process improvement
  • Serves as an agent for organizational, process and system changes
  • Works with internal business process owners and external resources to deliver solutions
  • No supervisory responsibility but is responsible for managing specific functions/tasks.

  • Successful completion of SAP ABAP development courses and/or SAP certification

SUMMARY:

The Analyst is responsible for the ongoing development, configuration, maintenance, documentation and support of Production Planning Modules in SAP along with overall S&OP process. This role will be responsible for the technical infrastructure supporting SAP PP and will ensures the overall SAP system is optimized and maintained for reliability, availability and performance.

The ideal candidate will be someone who have been initially in a Production Planning role in a Manufacturing company (Consumer foods will be ideal) handling production planning with multiple departments (such as Sales, Operations, Procurement, Finance, Quality) and further moved to an Analyst role in a SAP implementation Project and/or in the IT Support team for S&OP/SCM operations. The candidate will act as an internal expert providing guidance on PP and overall S&OP process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Responsibilities

  • To provide necessary support to existing SAP PP configuration in the Production environment
  • Responsible for providing functional/configuration knowledge in designing, implementing and supporting SAP solutions in PP modules 
  • Support the business and implement best practices for production planning related processes such as S&OP, LTP, Demand Management, MPS, CRP, MRP, MES, Capacity Planning 
  • Maintain and support procedures and system configurations related to batch determination, availability to promise, batch search criteria 
  • Develop, implement, review and reconcile manufacturing metrics 
  • Responsible for integrating PP with SD, MM, WM, QM and support issues in the integration areas 
  • To implement new requirements / functionalities based on Supply Chain and S&OP Business needs 
  • Perform detail analysis of requirements from technical and functional stand point. 
  • Develop Test Scripts, perform testing in DEV and QAS environments, and follow all change control processes 
  • Support Procurement, Pricing and Manufacturing process as related to production planning and S&OP process 
  • Support Planning, Manufacturing , Purchasing and Quality end users with PP related issues 
  • To analyze the reporting data needs and/or issues and timely resolution of the same. 
  • Create, document, test, and maintain business system reporting requirements 
  • Work closely with our internal IT team to evaluate changes in our system configuration 
  • To stay up-to-date with new PP functions and S&OP trends 

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Support and backup for FI and CO modules. 
  • Participate and manage Information Technology projects as assigned. 
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations for self and others. 
  • Maintain good housekeeping.

  • Knowledge of APO – especially in regards to PP/DS and Demand Planning is a plus 
  • Knowledge of SAP query, ABAP, BI / BO is a plus 
  • Knowledge of other SAP modules , such as QM, MM, SD, WM, FI, CO is a plus 
  • Project Management experience a plus 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: 

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, managers, vendors and customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: 

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY: 

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or written form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, SOFTWARE:

Basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft software skills. Experience with computers, servers, phone systems ant other office equipment.
