SAP BASIS Administrator, SoCal, 1 year+

Description:

Under minimal supervision, the SAP BASIS Administrator maintains the life-cycle management of SAP systems within a SAP Landscape of BW, Solution Manager and Portal.

Applies standard SAP principles, concepts and techniques in system installation, user administration, managing system access, monitoring performance and problem diagnosis and resolution. Demonstrates excellent tactical approaches that also reflect the strategic perspective.

Work is largely self-directed and may receive general review for overall fit with the SAP and enterprise strategy.

Administers all aspects of the SAP BW, Solution Manager and Portal systems. Installs the system, performs upgrades, and applies system “patches” (OSS notes, support packages, add-ons). Supports the technical implementation of the SAP system landscape as it evolves (i.e., development, test, staging and production). Performs system refreshes; participates in the scheduling of refreshes as requested. Monitors and tunes performance and workflow

Manages the SAP system landscape, including the Transport Management System. Performs systems maintenance and upgrades as needed, including backups and restores. Solves a wide range of difficult problems independently. Identifies needed system corrections and enhancements and recommends changes. Applies advanced system management principles, concepts and techniques. Evaluates and recommends new hardware, software, tools and utilities within the SAP environment. Provides staffing for systems support consistent with Service Level Agreements. Works extensively with and has moderate influence among others within the SAP group, the IT Department and with others outside the IT Department. Provides subject matter expertise in technical and process discussions; may serve as a member of a technology advisory group. Fulfills routine communication requirements. Acts as a technical resource to other SAP support personnel and IT personnel.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Must have UNIX shell scripting experience to maintain and develop SAP monitoring scripts with email notification and integration with Remedy for ticket management.
• Must have security experience
• Must have HA clustering experience in the UNIX environment for SAP ECC and SAP Portal. Must be able to support active/active and active/passive nodes.
• Must have STMS transport configuration, setup and troubleshooting experience
• Solid understanding of relational database theory, including familiarity with Oracle database structures; solid understanding of programming concepts, including familiarity with SQL programming.

Sr Technical Developer – SAP ABAP, 5+ months, MN

Looking for a senior level ABAP resource that has experience with ECC/SAP/Sales/Dist/Warehouse Mgmt. 50% of the work is within this space.

The senior technical developer is responsible for guiding the overall design, developing standards and the day-to-day development of new code within their area of expertise. This includes, but is not limited to, working with the functional and processes, analyzing program requirements, development of requirements, supporting off shore development efforts and the completion of test plans. The current environment consists of ECC, SCM, CRM, GTS, BW, XI, Solution Manager and EP.

Essential Functions:

• Participating with the design teams, business stakeholders and architecture groups to develop solution roadmaps to support business innovation and growth
• Collaborate with the design team on developing a strategy for introducing new technical features within your area of expertise.
• Responsible for providing technical leadership in area of domain expertise.
• Responsible for working with the team members to develop standards and best practices for implementing and supporting new development and technologies.
• Responsible for developing and overseeing the development of technical solutions to meet business requirements.
• Work as a key project resource taking day-to-day work direction and accepting accountability for technical aspects of development, including guiding and auditing the work of contract resources

Requirements:

• Manufacturing background is a must
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
• 6 years minimum of IT related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of related development/project experience.
• 5+ years of SAP based development including high level of ABAP development expertise.
• Demonstrated success in utilizing new SAP development technologies to deliver valuable business solutions
• Demonstrated technical and leadership experience of a development group and/or project
• Experience and understanding of software engineering concepts such as OOAD.
• Ability to translate client requirements into a feasible design solution.
• Demonstrated experience working on large projects in a team environment.
• Ability to multi-task efficiently on parallel efforts (customer issues, prototyping/architecture, implementation etc).
• Able to independently tackle complex assignments with significant initial ambiguity.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and database design fundamentals, with experience in Oracle preferred.
• ECC development with an emphasis in at least one of the following areas:
  • Sales and Distribution
  • Warehouse Management
  • Finance
• Ability to travel on occasion.

Desired:

• Experience in SAP development using ALE/IDOC, RFC, DYNPRO.
• Experience and/training in user interaction design.
• Experience working with an off-shore development team.

This role is responsible to support and enhance (through projects) the SAP NetWeaver applications. When participating to project, the activities involved analysis & estimations of the work to be done, writing technical specifications, coding top quality/performance applications as per requirement/timeline, respecting coding standards and unit testing. When supporting the SAP NetWeaver application, it involves monitoring of tickets, helping our customers (functional designers) for specific issues on programming, being a professional staying polite with the customers at all time and taking action, based on the delivery plan, to properly investigate, change and test issues/modifications, by following industry standards.  Additionally, this role might participate in a pager rotation support respecting service level agreements.
